c.ulnar styloid fracture
d.radial styloid fracture
ANS ---Scapho-lunate dissociation
- In scapho-lunate dissociation , scapho-lunate the ligament is disrupted, and so there is widening of the scapho-lunate space on the PA radiograph. This finding has been termed the ‘Terry Thomas sign' after the famous English comedian who had a prominent gap between his two upper incisors;
- Normal intercarpal distance is about 2 mm; a space wider than 4 mm is clearly abnormal
- Scapho-lunate separation is best demonstrated on ulnarly deviated anterior views.
- The rotation of the scaphoid, or rotatory subluxation of scaphoid , can result in apparent foreshortening of the scaphoid on the PA view with projection of the cortex of the distal pole over the waist (the ‘signet ring’ sign).
