4.no ionising radiation
5.no sedation

Indication
1.screening of premature infants for intracranial hemorrhage
2. evaluation and follow up of hydrocephalus and periventicular leucomalacia
3.for follow up of therapy or follow-up of complications of prenatal diagnosis like malformations ,infection or masses
4.use of doppler ,color ,power doppler
                                for suspected vascular lesions
                                for possible subdural hematomas
                                 to separate a normal vascular structures from                                     clot 
                                concern for  infarction
5.evalaution of normal cranial sutures ,allow diagnosis of craniosynostosis and other abnormal sutures
6. diagnosis of lacunar skull diagnosis in myelomeningocoele patients
